Rolex Watches New Collection : The 2002 Swiss Everest 50th Anniversary Expedition recreated a pioneering climb on the world’s highest mountain. In 1952, a team of adventurers, equipped with Rolex Oyster watches, reached a then record altitude of about 8,600 metres, less than 250 metres from the top. They also opened up a new route towards the top of Mount Everest that paved the way for the first successful ascent by a British expedition the next year.
