Sisters of the deep: on the left, the 1960 Rolex Deep Sea Special and on the top right, the 2012 Rolex Deepsea Challenge. These two experimental watches were entirely designed and built by Rolex to resist the extreme pressure in the deepest reaches of the oceans, some 11,000 metres below the surface, setting the record for the deepest mechanical divers' watches in the world.
